I saw him Sunday night at the Comerica theater. He didn't say much, in fact nothing at all, other than the lyrics to his songs, as the Band played them.
He did do a brilliant harmonica solo during "Tangled Up In Blue", never touched a guitar, but he did occasionally play chords on a Grand, standing all the way..
At times, I wondered was he holding the microphone stand or was he using it to hold him up.
Only played for an hour and a half. At the end, they did a two song encore, first a Sinatra style "Why Try To Change Me Now" and ending with a version of "Blowing In The Wind" that had no resemblance to the original song other than the lyrics.
The Stage went suddenly dark. Moments later the spotlights turned up and Dylan and His Band stood and stared back at the crowd for less than thirty seconds. In the darkness, Dylan had donned his iconic white hat, telegraphing that the show was over.
They never took a bow nor did any intros to the band members.
No mention of the Nobel Peace Prize..
After the 30 second stare down, the lights went out for the final time and they were gone. The Overheads lights came on and the crowd began to shuffle away.
Vintage Dylan. No need to discuss much.

Dont Think Twice Its, Alright
