I remember.
It was many moons ago, more than 30 summers to be sure. The public school teachers were hanging around the bars in Prince Georges County trashing the students and the system, taking about striking for their next raise.

I remember one in particular who said she was a math teacher and thought it was a joke that she had never took a math class in college and would probably fail the class that she was teaching..

"For the right money, I would teach brain surgery. As long as they're signing the checks " she giggled as they all laughed hysterically at me, the dumb tax payer.
I thought she was joking, but all of the rest of the teachers were nodding in agreement.
Little did I realize that this wasn't just a local problem.
Now, here we are 30 years later and all of their students have grown up to be climate scientists, economists and constitutional scholars, at least second amendment scholars, anyway.
I suppose there was a method to their madness.
Their students, all voting age adults now, never miss an opportunity to display their wits at election time
